Based on the platform of the Simca 8, the same as the Fiat 1100S, the idea of the 8 Sport was born in 1948. Pigozzi developed a design by Pininfarina executed for Fiat in the desire to add a sports car to its range.
While not exactly sporty with its 50hp engine, the bodywork stands out for its elegance. This Facel-Metallon bodywork would certainly inspire Jean Daninos for his future designs.
